That's what tell-tales are for. A tell-tale is a small, innocuous object that will be disturbed if your suit-case (or door) is opened. Long hairs caught in a particular location around the opening of your suitcase are an example. Another one is a corner of a piece of clothing caught in the closing of your suitcase (searchers will inevitably make sure everything is fully inside before closing). Small pieces of paper (a small receipt is believable) that will move if the case is opened. Spies have been doing this for decades if not centuries.

They should add a viewing window over the dot instead of an open exposed whole. Will show signs of tampering as well.

I bought a similar search alerting lock for use on my luggage, with TSA approved master key number. It let me know that my bag was searched, not by the indicator flag, but by the fact the TSA agent cut it off and threw the broken pieces in my bag. Too dumb, or too lazy it still cost me 5$ so they could have a good rummage through my dirty underwear ?

Someone's gonna have to explain to me why the TSA needs master keys.

Anywhere else in the world they make you stand there and unlock it while they inspect it.

that could be solved extremely easy with just a shield of glass or clear plastic over the indicator to prevent anyone doing what you did, i'm surprised the company didn't think of such a simple solution

Just take a piece of clear packing tape over the front of the lock so you can't reach the red dot.

Whoever approved this at TSA deserves a suicide barrage.
wertercatt wertercatt 04.01.2019->TSA approved just means "designed to open with a TSA key," it doesn't mean they validate each lock for security

OK - The idea with the lock is in principle not bad. But! But! What a waste of time if it's so easy to reset. ??‍?

In Finland 95% of all sorts of locks are made by ABLOY. The rest are cheap chinese. Why don't you pick more ABLOY's?

Easy solution, put the indicator under a clear piece of plastic.

I was wondering, do you have a HYT chain key lock and can you pick these?
