Thanks man, this is really helpful! One question though: Do you know for a fact if most bank safes with such mechanisms have an alarm attached if a true key is not used?
Asking for a friend.
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 03.06.2019->I wouldn't chance it

why is it i rarely get clicks or feel one when setting a pin.. its been driving me nuts that i cant hear them.. sometimes i do, sometimes (most times) right now i dont...

eve my clear acrylic practice lock sorta like yours doesnt give me much audible feedback and very little tactile when setting them... hopefully soon ill have a larger array of locks to practice on, naybe its just the lock and not me the picker... LOL
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 19.04.2019->I typically use more tension than most which increases the sound of the audible click and the feedback however you need to be careful with that approach because you need to know when to tone it down. It could be a combination of you not using enough in the lock. Also, there is a possibility that the microphone more distinctly then your ear might hear it

You need the hands of a brain surgeon to feel those loose key pins.
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 07.04.2019->I don't know, there are a lot of people in this community that are quite successful with some shaky hands.

HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 03.03.2019->The Cutaway lock in this video was handmade and unfortunately there is not a link for it because it's not sold

Excuse a question, locks like this you can do it alone or you have to buy it? Thank you
Paolo HellRaiser Paolo HellRaiser 05.02.2019->@HelpfulLockPicker Tnx ;)

Cerchero video
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 05.02.2019->the answer is roughly both. There are some videos on making your own if you are confident. I have a few cutaway locks I bought on eBay this one was a gift though

Hey man. If have a question. I resentlly strarted lockpicking and I have noticed that when I pick the basic blue masterlock the deiver pins don't fall. I don't know if my explanation was cleare enough xD. Btw very good video and very usefull.
Dororix Dororix 06.02.2019->@HelpfulLockPicker thx for the advice. Your videos are helping me a lot
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 06.02.2019->@Dororix when you were first starting out I feel like a Kwikset lock is one of the best locks to learn on to get a sense of the feel. If that lock is giving you a hard time just practice on something else until you develop more of a sensitivity to the feedback
Dororix Dororix 05.02.2019->@HelpfulLockPicker I think it is the lock's problem because when I set a pin on the masterlock 140 the drivers fall as you show on the video. Lets see if I'm able to open the 140 because I'm having some trubbles, but I guess I lack experience
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 05.02.2019->The cheap Master Lock No 3 provided poor feedback and that could play a part. Are you holding the lock so the key goes in teeth up? If so, it should make that feeling when the pin sets if you are not, the feedback is slightly different. The feedback takes time to become sensitive to but it is there.

I don't really understand why at 4:45, you don't feel the pins as 'set' as it is floppy (it's not on the shear line, but it's floppy).
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 07.01.2019->I would have to watch it again to see but underset and set pins can both produce a floppy feeling.

Seems to work out well. Useful to see top and bottom pins, especially the gap between them when pins are set.
