I don't really understand why at 4:45, you don't feel the pins as 'set' as it is floppy (it's not on the shear line, but it's floppy).
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 07.01.2019->I would have to watch it again to see but underset and set pins can both produce a floppy feeling.

Seems to work out well. Useful to see top and bottom pins, especially the gap between them when pins are set.
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 12.12.2018->Thanks again for making it!

That's a really good cutaway for teaching,
A well presented tutorial,
Are you able to do a video using that cutaway to show how one can recover from an overset pin Thank you, cheers matey
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 30.11.2018->I can try to do a video on that. I want to do one on underset pins as well.

Great video! Just what I was looking for. I have a few Masterlock # 3’s that I’m learning on. I get them open every now and again but not with consistency. This should help.
Do you use the same angle on the pick for back pins? It feels like I can get the pins in front to go up higher than the back pins. Maybe I need a pry bar for top of key way instead of using bottom of key way. It doesn’t feel like the tensioner is in the way but like I said the front pins feel easier than the back pins, especially 4. Anyway great video, very well put together! Thanks!
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 29.11.2018->+SGT Spaulding the Brinks is harder but it is also better made. Since it is better made it provides much better feedback. The Master Lock NO 3 is so poorly made it is sloppy and is it the best to learn on.
SGT Spaulding SGT Spaulding 29.11.2018->Thanks. I ordered the acrylic lock. Your list shows the Master 3 ahead of the Brinks. The Brinks gives better feedback though?
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 29.11.2018->+SGT Spaulding I like like Kwikset and also if you check the video description look for my Progressive Lock List and I would start at the Brinks
SGT Spaulding SGT Spaulding 29.11.2018->What would you recommend to start with?
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 29.11.2018->I am glad it helped. I found Master Lock NO 3 are not great locks for learning feedback.

A very clear and well put together video mate, along with great information, on how to identify and set pins, that need picking in a lock. This will be a great video for any newbies to the sport, to help get them started on their way ?? Fantastic job my friend and, one we will show to our new club members, to help them out, in understanding this issue visually. Thanks for sharing this with us and, hope you enjoy, the rest of your week ????
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 29.11.2018->Thank you for the kind words, and I'm really glad to hear that you think you'll be able to help your new members :-)

Great video. The cut away lock is much easier to view pin states in than the acrylic ones which get light glare when filming.
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 29.11.2018->I'm very happy to have this one, I am working on giving a few more different types down the road. What I really like about this one as you can see the keypins which you couldn't in my schlage one

Thanks for another awesome tutorial. I love the concept of you teaching and explaining, instead of just a video of a successful pick
HelpfulLockPicker HelpfulLockPicker 29.11.2018->I may complete the series and do one on underset pins in the next few weeks as well. I am really liking this new cutaway lock! Thank you for the feedback!
