These Tesa TE5 locks by Assa Abloy are tricky beasts for sure! Great fun learning them however! Thanks again to Tallan Pick for these excellent locks :-)
Heath Hickford Heath Hickford 19.12.2018->wbap hellcat we see them a lot in screen security doors (particularly in Australia)
wbap hellcat wbap hellcat 18.12.2018->What application or these locks used in? Doors Filing cabinets ect? I've seen and picked countless times but not really sure what there for

Are Assa Abloy just cornering the market. I saw a union brand euro yesterday that had Assa Abloy on the reverse of the key with Union on the front?!

Anyway, I digress, cool lock and nice job. I honestly thought you changed your mind and said your were only picking the one... I need more sleep...
Lock Noob Lock Noob 20.12.2018->Between Assa, Yale, Ingersoll Rand and Master Lock, that’s a Ginormous market share :-) ???

Great job there LN. I have a few Tesa euro profile padlocks, which takes the 30/30 cut in half brass one.
Really want to upgrade my padlocks from the TE2 profile to a Tesa t60 dimple euro. Will make them a much more secure padlocks
FunKey MonKey FunKey MonKey 20.12.2018->+Lock Noob cheers LN ?? I'd really like to get the T70 but can't find it in a 30/30 version. Would the T60 still be a good candidate to replace the TE2 pin tumbler?
Lock Noob Lock Noob 20.12.2018->T60 is susceptible to bumping i here :-)

Great double picking on those te5! you know they are one of my favorite locks. I´m very happy that you have fun with them ;o))
Thank you for your kind words about me my friend, is much appreciated, and thanks for showing ;o)))
Lock Noob Lock Noob 20.12.2018->Thank you for sending them to me. When you first sent your first package to me, I couldn’t imagine being able to pick the TE5 or T60, so thank you for the challenge :-)

Hi Lock Noob, We get these Tesa locks in Australia, sold as Gainsborough. Good tolerances, light springs - easier to overset - bevelled pins, and key pins with the single groove. Under lightish tension, the key pin will overset and catch in the groove at the shearline. I see your cylinders also have the "mysterious" wider pin spacing between pin chambers 3 and 4. We have a theory as to why, as yet unconfirmed, maybe it will remain a mystery? ..... Regards, Brian. P.S. (MACS?)
Brian Hignett Brian Hignett 20.12.2018->Yes Gainsborough/Tesa have been sold in Australia for many a long year, same keyway and notch at the key tip. The odd thing is the different spacing only between the 3rd and 4th pin chamber - you can see this by looking at the top of the Euro cylinders. As I said we have a theory - as yet not confirmed, if anybody knows why the factory does this, please let me know! Regards, Brian.
Lock Noob Lock Noob 20.12.2018->Until this vid, I’d never heard of Gainsborough, now I’m realky curious! :-)

I’ve noticed at times you pick euro locks upside down (USA style) and others you pick pins down. No shade just curious. (:
Lock Noob Lock Noob 19.12.2018->timbober1 I can pick both ways but prefer pins up. It’s a myth that they are always installed in Europe pins down, though it IS more common. I see a lot of doors in commercial properties with Euro profile locks in multiple orientations, including sideways :-)
