I bought those for cheap and thought they would not be worth much.
I tried lock picking for the first time yesterday, got the practice locks open in a hurry, moved on to padlocks, furniture locks, no problem either.
Today I decided to try to pick my BKS cylinders and expected it to be easy, given the low price.
Failed miserably.
After watching this video I feel not only better about myself, but also my locks and the good purchase I have made.
Thank you!

Standard 35$ German Lock. Try a 150$ BKS Janus Zylinder. Make more stress

Just started picking as a hobby. Got myself one of those practice locks from Multipick... It's a BKS with that keyway, 2 spools (1&2), 1 normal pin (3), and 2 reduced diameter (4&5). Gratified that I ended up using a V04 and SP12 as well, but even with the cutouts, picking this thing as my very first lock has been a bit of a pain. Now at least feel that I'm not completely incompetent at this. Think I will try putting 5 standard pins in, as I've started to bend the V04 from the deep inset pins at the back. Got it open a couple of times, but never blind.

I have this same lock. Got pretty far with half diamond and a flat bar.

This lock costs less than 10€ in Germany, it's very much a low-end lock.
         @lookieeight1006 @lookieeight1006 03.04.2020->In Germany this lock is low-end.
In the US they use a "pick proof" Kwikset, that can be opened when you blow too hard on it.
Who doesn't love 'the greatest nation in the world'?
         @ultraboonrpg3094 @ultraboonrpg3094 03.04.2020->@lookieeight1006 I think this particular BKS 8900 might have just been the odd one out. BB has picked higher-end Euro locks in the past with less effort. Still, pretty good for such a cheap lock. I hadn't expected ANY safety features for that price.

Great lock. I wonder if the Soviets make gun safes with this lock fitted.

Excellent job picking this Mr. Bill, I thought you got lucky but a open is a open. Why couldn't you send thos kinds of locks to me. Hey brother thank you for what you sent

did you open it? as the keyway moved but the other bit did not move, so would it not of remained locked?

Not sure if you caught this, but the actuator acts as a cylinder retainer like a best cylinder. It looks like you can only remove this with the cylinder partially rotated. So using a euro cylinder cracker to split it for removal may not be possible.

I find that one of the pink Peterson picks work well in these narrow German locks.

I slowed down the disassembly of the lock to 0.25 speed to make the video last longer, thanks Bill, that was some nasty bitting and pins.
