I have one of these I intended to use on my locker at work, but the shackle thickness is too much for the door latch mechanism...too bad I can't figure out a way of adapting it, ya know?

This is a slap in the face for me. I have one of these that I have been picking for two months now and I have yet to get even the slightest hint of rotation/counterrotation or a hint that I've set a pin. I'm a newbie and I've successfully picked a few deadbolts and knob keyway locks, but this lock has stumped me totally. I'm guessing it's one of these rebranded Abus locks (mine says Uhaul on it), but maybe it's just like this one and I'm just doing it all wrong.

more practical would be demonstrating how it would be as locked up on something? certainly holding comfortably in your hand optimizes angle of tension, but it's never so in use. yup, internals are stiff on cheaper new locks so any toolkit should incl WD-40, as he mentioned he did use

@BosnianBill: I was horrified that you mentioned shooting WD40 into a lock. That may be fine for one you're never going to use again but you are giving people a bad habit. WD40 will collect dust over time and GRAPHITE does not. What say thee?

&#39;m not good at picking at all. I have one of these, and it&#39;s easier to pick than the clear plastic padlock that came with the cheap lock pick set. The big, heavy &quot;US General&quot; round 2.5&quot; one has so far kept me out, but it has a very strong spring, making it tough to get any feel besides just tension.

Ive been 75 percent sucessfull on theses locks for a beginner. Using a multi swiss army style pick.

My dad has an ancient Chateau version of this and it isn&#39;t near that easy. Even has a spool or two in it.<br>Times have definitely changed.
