I know exactly what the problem is, the lock is scared shitless of you. It heard you were going to pick it, knew you by reputation for being the lock destroyer and gave up the minute you touch it. Very well done my friend.

Another speedy pick, Rich. And this with such pins.
          @waddac2 06.07.2015->Thanks Dirk mate. Still baffled as to why it pops so quick. Four of the springs were well down in the housing so pins were not under a lot of spring tension so pins may have been sat on or very near the sheer line, but one chamber as you can see had two springs in.
          @dirksecrets 06.07.2015->waddac2 Were this springs curled into each other to increase the strength? Or really one on top of the other spring?

The springs when gutting were well inside the housing meaning pins were not under a lot of tension so assume they were sat very near the sheer line making it very easy to pick even with nasty pins. What do you think of my theory?
          @LDU2U 06.07.2015->waddac2 This is just my opinion Rich, but looking from left to right, if you look at driver pin 2, the length before the cut out is enough so it acts like a normal pin, like a spool but won't trap like a spool if you get my drift, driver pin 3-4 and 5 are the same, even allowing for the serrations I'd be thinking they react similar to standard pins, in other words the serrations become non effective. Also, can't tell if any driver pins reach above the shear line when all pins are at rest, if so it makes the shapes pretty much non effective when coupled with bitting. Driver pin 1 appears to be the only pin which may require picking if you understand. Just my opinion looking at them. I think some custom pins can be shaped so as to defeat their purpose.

          @waddac2 06.07.2015->Here are my thoughts Bryan so let me know if you think I am on the right tracks. When I gutted the lock the springs were well down inside the housing needing a tap or two to get them out. With them being like this I can only assume that the pins even though nasty were sat very near the sheer line as when picking front to back by just touching pins the plug dropped very slightly then opened on pin 5. Then from picking from back touching and setting 5 others were easily set with tang of the pick?????
          @slim_pickins1298 06.07.2015->waddac2 sounds very plausible Rich as you probably know better than me having picking hundreds of locks. Weak spring certainly would certainly make things easier if the pins are sitting well down in their stack. Stick tougher springs in and give it another whirl mate.
          @waddac2 06.07.2015->slim_pickins Never thought of popping better springs in and trying again. Too late now though as dumped pins into my pinning kit box for later use, so they will be mixed in with lots of other making them a pain to find LOL!!!!
