Nice lock. Big fan of Abus, especially if you can gut them.
          @MichaelMaynard 14.02.2017->Yep, the removable core 83 series is the best thing since sliced bread. Anyone serious about locksport should buy half a dozen cylinders in different keyways from Brockhage (at $8 each!) and a pinning kit...there's nothing they can't teach you.

Yep, bloody good locks!?I have some but always want more! I have some 83/40's, a 45, 55 and 80 but no 83/50 :( yet! ??

The 83 series is indeed a gift from God. They are my favorite locks in my collection and so far I give an 83AL/45 each time as a challenge lock. I believe everyone should have one or a dozen in their collection. LOL. I am always adding new cores for the 83 series to my collection. I always enjoy your videos and I know how awesome of a person you are based on your opinion of the ABUS 83 series.

The 83 is one of the nicest locks I know, especially as an Abus fan. Bloody good pick on that beast Michael, very nice to watch and very entertaining :). And yes, I would use mine too to lock something :).

agreed, one of my favorite locks! easy to work on and very versatile.
          @MichaelMaynard 14.02.2017->Yeah the whole 83 series has been a winner for Abus, and rightly so. They pretty obviously listened both to their customers, and the poor buggers that have to work on the locks. Great to see a piece of engineering design that actually works.
