------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @uklockpickaUklp 15.10.2018 Absolutley awesome job on that my friend, great explanation I have truly learnt alot from your video. I'm a noob when it comes to medecco, I've had one on loan from a fellow locksporters, it is also an m3. The thing is I've not spent any time on it really though having watched this you've given me some inspo buddy. Thanks for sharing
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @jeffmoss26 04.03.2017 nice job...next time just take the setscrews out instead of using the shim/follower :)           @LockFall 04.03.2017->I did think about gutting that way, but it feels slower. Since the whole stack comes out maybe it's not. I'll try it if I ever make another Medeco video with set screws on it.           @jeffmoss26 04.03.2017->it's the only way I've ever taken one apart. On the KIKs you remove the top strip and reinstall it with a screwdriver and hammer.           @LockFall 04.03.2017->I've done that with a LFIC core, but was more hassle than just picking to operating and swapping out that way. Though I'll try it next time with the set screws. :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @teknohippie8494 01.03.2017 nice pick! I always wondered what the m3 was for. never heard of or seen a check gate the two arms on the gate line up with the recesses in the side bar I assume? also when checking to see if your pins were rotated you used the term "clicky" what does that mean? my biggest trouble is determining whether my pins are rotated correctly.           @LockFall 01.03.2017->Yes the 2 bars ontop of the check-pin serve to block the sidebar from advancing the whole way into the keypins. So while you can determine rotation, they will block the sidebar from going further. A better design would have been to keep is so the sidebar couldn't bind without getting that out of the way, in which case a purpose built tool could be inserted (or bottom of key).
"Clicky" is just the audio version of loose, you should be able to hear in the video. By feel a pin will be pretty frozen if it's not rotationally correct when bumping over it with a gem like pick, though as I mention, the last pin sometimes you need to test lifting it a little to make sure it's not binding against the sheer line.
