great video & info mate. tbh I had no idea about the quick change shackle, a couple of times I picked it and it would fall out, and I'd no idea why... now I do!! ? ??

Thanks for this nice video about the Abus 83 Ethan :). For sure a pretty cool and universal lock. One thing I really like is the exchangeable shackle, so if it's cut, you can simply replace it :). I always thought, that with the black dot facing up the z-bar makes the lock key retaining and facing down non key retaining...I didn't know that this unlocks the shackle :D. I have an Aluminium 83, which doesn't have this bar, but also a stainless one which might have one...never did pay much attention to this, and will have to try it out :).
          @HobbyPicker 14.07.2017->Thanks for watching, how did I know you would be sure to find this video ;-) I payed special attention to the features of the Z-bar because it is often misunderstood. I always say to hold the lock with the drainage hole facing downwards so that the ball bearing doesn't fall out when the shackle is removed.

Brilliant video buddy. I love abus locks and have a 83/40 blue in my collection which is a lot like yours core and key wise. Great video again ;o))))

          @waddac2 14.07.2017->Mine is strange to be fair. I love TITALIUM locks due to how light they are and silver looking so trying to collect all. Now my 83/40 is dark blue and says TITALIUM on it, but it is quite heavy like a brass padlock.

Great video!! Thanks for the shout out to my channel ? That video on the KiK adapter has been my most viewed actually! I did another video a while before showing my 83 aluminium. You can find them fairly easily over here. I do have a question about your 83 you showed; on the side of the core opposite the pinning window, there's a number stamped in the side. That's the model number for the keyway style. I was just curious what yours was ? Keep up the great work!!
          @HobbyPicker 14.07.2017->Thank you very much for watching and for the Kik adaption video :-) You really do deserve a shout out! The number on the side of the core is 500, I always wondered what it was for and guessed that that was its purpose but never mentioned it because I wasn't sure.
          @LockPickingPatrolman 15.07.2017->Hobby Picker thank you again ? The 83/45-500 core is about impossible to find over here! And in Australia they have the core that takes the LW4 keyway (and a number of different colours for the AL lock bodies)! I just ordered another 83AL with the 888 core which has the Abus shaped keyway ??
