I might be able to shed light on the lack of build up pins, slots 1,2,5,6 are pinned up to both operating and control but 3 and 4 are only pinned for operating, the control function is actuated by having the key cuts in slots 3 and 4 cut 3 depths higher than the operating cut, this means that the operating key cannot have a 1,2,or 3 cut. Here is an example: (op) 244631 (ctrl) 241331. Hope this helps.

Man great work! I wish I could get my medeco picked to control so i could finally get it out of its housing.. really funny how the control chambers only had 1 driver.. that surprised me... thanks for sharing bud!

Hey bro! I just picked a lfic ccw and it stoped like i had control so im trying to see why the core wont come out. Any ideas? Ill msg you on discord
@mikedunham7220 @mikedunham7220 31.03.2021->Did you ever find out why that was? I'm having the same problem at the moment.
@jpmcpinning4255 @jpmcpinning4255 31.03.2021->@mikedunham7220 i don’t remember exactly why. I know i picked it again and somehow got it out though. I think i had Pin 3&4 set to the wrong sheer line. Pin 3&4 are the pins that affect the control lug. If you set them both on the first click see if there is another sheer line when you push it higher. Might have to reset though which sucks... i had to anyways
@jpmcpinning4255 @jpmcpinning4255 31.03.2021->@mikedunham7220 if its like the one in the video maybe you pushed it past the first line. With only one driver in each hole (3&4) it would only allow control at first sheer line.if pushed past that the key pin blocks the control lug it looks like.

I guess since there are two sleeves, there is no need for multiple drivers... I guess it makes sense, but I'd have thought there would be two drivers as well.

Good stuff man! Nice to see the inside of a Medeco LFIC core. IC cores are miserable!

thanks again for picking this one for me!

Looks just like what mine look like. The single drivers are all that is needed, but I guess they could be master-keyed. Sure makes picking difficult compared to the rim/mortise cylinders.
@MMDeveloper @MMDeveloper 25.01.2017->I was expecting multiple driver pins in the control chambers, but... I guess I was wrong.
@LockFall @LockFall 25.01.2017->To be fair, by feel it seems like a lot is going on inside. I think it's just the ring milling and tension can be put on in a funny way, not as smooth as expected on a normal lock.

thats cool Ive never seen the inside of medeco LFIC
@MMDeveloper @MMDeveloper 25.01.2017->was a first for me too... I think I see a potential vulnerability with picking these to control now that I've seen it disassembled, but I just don't have the tooling capabilities to make a proof of concept
@BoredLockpicker @BoredLockpicker 25.01.2017->MM Developer is it something you could draw out for someone else to make?
@LockFall @LockFall 25.01.2017->I've heard some locksmiths use a specialized tension wrench to put tension on just the control ring. It's something I've thought about making, but I haven't had the time yet. I wonder if they are for sale?
@BoredLockpicker @BoredLockpicker 25.01.2017->draukan Peterson sells them for sfic not sure on lfic. I have the sfic set and find it a pain in the ass to use.
