------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @lockpickinglawyer 12.10.2017 Nice pick. FYI- I'm pretty sure the lock was mislabeled. The E60s I have feature unique and brutal keyways. Seeing the bitting on that E60 key, you are in for a real challenge. Good luck. ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @moo8860 05.03.2018 2:50 surely if a spool on a key pin is having an effect, it must be at the shear line, and overset.
I think these must be the driver pin spools that are being picked, and any spools in key pins would just make it more difficult to recover from an overset.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @paullinnell 16.10.2017 Always learn something from your videos!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @kb7vml 14.10.2017 The dark grey coating on those pins looks like a moly compound, something like molybdenum disulfide.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @Steel-Pinnings 13.10.2017 Very cool video as usual.
One question though, can you buy just the pins... Like a pin kit without being an Abus dealer? @bosnianbill 13.10.2017->Not that I've seen anywhere (yet). I have a locksmith buddy in Frankfurt that gave me a handful. @Steel-Pinnings 14.10.2017->bosnianbill Awesome, thanks for sharing. Really cool pins.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @BuzzinsPetRock78 13.10.2017 And this is why police in europe don't bother learning lockpicking.....usually it's faster or more effecient to just use another methode. Then door to my home is an industry standard hardwood door, with a lock similar to this, and security catches that come out when the key turns. If police need to enter the house....they smash a window, the door is no real option... I am really surprised why the north american lock industry doesn't change and produces better locks...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @shaunozzyoz425 12.10.2017 Can someone HELP what is the equivlient to government steel in the UK??? thank you keep unlockin!!! @andersjjensen 30.12.2017->Series 420 steel is what Peterson calls government steel. It is used in fine cutlery and the like.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @Pengochan 12.10.2017 I find one of the SSDEV hooks (the deep one with the fine tip) to work very nicely with ABUS locks. It's steep, so one can work kind of around the warding. That pick is also useful to get around TOK tensioners at a high first pin in most locks.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @AalbertTorsius 12.10.2017 I like that T-pin, especially how the ends taper out again, to make it get caught even better.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @jakoblindgren6604 12.10.2017 Come on Bill, pick it the right way up
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @send9 12.10.2017 Love seeing high-quality stock locks. Looking forward to seeing the E60 picked! :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @CR055H41RZ 12.10.2017 Bill, how come you didn't use your new euro hollow-follower?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @skygh 12.10.2017 Bill why are you so hesitant in disassembling Euro cylinders? You have given away followers so you have the equipment. Some things are a mystery I suppose.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @KarlRoyale 12.10.2017 HAs anyone ever tried turning metal pins out of rare earth magnets? Seems to me that would cause any number of problems if the rest of the core was brass and the pick was steel. @Subsonic-cd2en 12.10.2017->It certainly could, but you'd just have to use a pick made out of a completely non-magnetic stainless steel to beat it. It would sure be weird though! Also, Neodymium magnets are very brittle. In actual practice, the keys would pretty quickly break chunks off of the pins, or just break them in half. Still... for a challenge lock it's kind of a fun idea! @tuba7084 12.10.2017->Karl Royale if I recall correctly, I believe Bill had a challenge lock come through with one or two of the chamber loaded with magnets. I think it was one of the whipped videos
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @GraniteValleyDave 11.10.2017 Does anyone know what tweezers Bill uses? @DavidSpira 12.10.2017->I think he's been using Sparrow's pinning tweezers. But basically all pinning tweezers have a similar form. http://www.sparrowslockpicks.com/product_p/t1.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @RMoribayashi 11.10.2017 I'm surprised ABUS still makes euro locks with no anti snap features.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @davejoseph5615 11.10.2017 Hey Bill, I noticed that on your website on your Home Security > Which Lock Should I Buy page that you don't list the Bowley yet. I'm curious if you are still pondering its qualities? @bosnianbill 13.10.2017->No, it is a great lock but not widely distributed yet. Very few dealers, unique keys that nobody can cut, and has a short reliability track record. I LOVE the design and would not hesitate to put one on my house, but it really isn't mainstream yet.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @sarnold1277 11.10.2017 Great lock! Great pick!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @davenbaptist839 11.10.2017 Nice lock but it's the E50 you picked. that is a lock with hardly any security.
The other one is the E60 and that one is more secure. (the keys were labelde correctly)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @charlesmckinney 11.10.2017 Cool stuff. Great picking as usual. Some day a blooper vid would be great too. As funny as Bill is on purpose I'd bet the bloopers would be hilarious.
