? Interesting discovery on this one!

I started out planning to pick and gut this Yale lock, but while examining the internals I found an unexpected bypass that surprised me. Have you ever seen this weakness before, or is this the first time you've encountered it?

Drop your thoughts below. I'd love to hear how you'd address this vulnerability in the real world.

That's no good, they could take 2 minutes to weld the holes up when they're welding the lock to the gate

@LockLab-101 06.10.2026->Yeah, I agree… but suspect that a lot just don’t know

Very simple bypass for sure!! Thanks for the video as always. Great content my friend.

@LockLab-101 06.10.2026->Glad you enjoyed the breakdown, thanks for the continued support! ??

@LiamGosden 05.10.2026
Really interesting to see what was happening inside the lock.?

@LockLab-101 05.10.2026->Glad you enjoyed getting a look at the internals! ??

That bypass was defi nitely unexpected ?

@LockLab-101 05.10.2026->I was just as surprised as you when I found it! ??

@NoahInskip 05.10.2026
The internal mechanism was way more interesting than I exp ected.

@LockLab-101 05.10.2026->I’m glad you found the internals as fascinating as I did! ??

Really appreciate you watching and commenting!
You also make great videos!!?

@Slimpickings1282 04.10.2026
Security through obscurity folks. This is what happens. You could put some JB weld over the screw holes that's probably how I would fix it.

@LockLab-101 04.10.2026->Yeah, pretty good idea?

I would like to see a post/picture of a gate of "around here" that exemplifies the possibility of this exploit. I am confused how you would remove the corner screw.

@LockLab-101 04.10.2026->It’s not that they remove the screws, but that they don’t use them.
The lock is welded to the security gate

@laurenarndt464 04.10.2026->@LockLab-101I understand.

@LockLab-101 04.10.2026->I just tried to upload a photo in the reply but it’s not allowed by YouTube.. basically, because the are used on security doors or gates, they are just welded onto one of the security bars.

@laurenarndt464 04.10.2026->@LockLab-101Well, it's not necessary, but when you go to create a video, slide over to 'Post' instead. You can write and upload photos.

@LockLab-101 04.10.2026->Just sent some lock photos that I took to your YouTube email?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Loose-Shirt6551 04.10.2026
Neat exploit! So when these are mounted (and welded) on a gate, I assume even if the screws were properly installed, you could reach through and remove that one screw and still use that exploit?

@LockLab-101 04.10.2026->Yeah, absolutely correct.. just having a sleeve in there would solve it… these are seen as pretty secure here.. probably because of the 6 pin wells are visible and just gives the impression that it’s a serious lock. Just my opinion..??

@TheGreenishOne 04.10.2026
And that's why you properly install your locks and use the correct locks for your use case. Over here in the Netherlands I've only seen these locks on proper front doors, never on a gate.

@LockLab-101 04.10.2026->Thanks for watching and commenting ?
